Why We Started South Tail

Every dog owner has a story.

Ours started with a German Shepherd.

Like many people, we wanted the very best for our dog. We loved taking him on walks, road trips, outdoor adventures, and simply spending time together. Along the way, we learned just how important good gear can be. Comfort, durability, safety, and reliability all matter when your dog is part of your everyday life.

But South Tail wasn't created because we wanted to start a pet business.

It was created because our love for dogs continued to grow.

Over time, another dog entered our lives through the RSPCA.

He wasn't in perfect health when we first met him and needed extra care and attention. We knew he deserved the opportunity to recover in a home, so we welcomed him into ours.

Watching him slowly regain his health, confidence, and trust was something we'll never forget.

It reminded us that every dog deserves the chance to feel safe, loved, and part of a family.

That experience changed the way we looked at dogs, and it ultimately shaped the purpose behind South Tail.

Today, South Tail is built around two simple beliefs.

First, dogs deserve gear that improves their everyday lives.

And second, every dog deserves the opportunity to live a happy and comfortable life, whether they've already found a family or are still waiting for one.
